Alfiniti extrudes 6061-T6511 aluminum to AMS 4173 and takes it through cutting, forming, machining, joining and finishing in house.
6061-T6511 extrusions are manufactured by extruding, solution heat treating, stress relieving by stretching, straightening and precipitation heat treating.
Alloy and temper designations are in compliance with the latest version of ANSI H35.1.
Tolerances for the tubes we supply are shown in the tolerance tables and are in compliance with the latest revision of ANSI H35.2 and Aluminum Standards and Data.

Why it matters:
AMS 4173 fixes one alloy and one temper, so a single line on the purchase order settles composition, strength and elongation. There is no temper table to work through and no ambiguity about what the extrusion has to hold.
The T6511 designation carries the process with it. Solution heat treating, stress relieving by stretching and precipitation heat treating are part of the specification, which is what keeps residual stress and straightness predictable in long extruded sections.
Section size only changes elongation. Tensile and yield hold at 38.0 ksi and 35.0 ksi across the range, while elongation goes from 8 percent under 0.250 inch to 10 percent at 0.250 inch and over.
Alfiniti can help:
Send us the profile, wall and length you need in 6061-T6511. We extrude the material, hold the specification, and handle secondary operations in house so one source covers material and fabrication.
