Anodizing

Alfiniti anodizes the aluminum it manufactures, with standard etch (201R1), bright dip (205R5), two-step black, hard coat, and Frostkote acid-etch finishes, in clear or a range of colors, to MIL-A-8625 Type I, II, and III, Class 1 (non-dyed) or Class 2 (dyed). We anodize parts up to 27 feet long, and run a special bendable anodized process for parts that are formed after finishing.
Anodizing builds a hard, corrosion-resistant oxide layer that becomes part of the metal, so it will not chip or peel, and it can be left clear, dyed to color, or bright-dipped to a mirror-like shine. Bright dip in particular is offered by few US shops, and we run it in-house at length. Tell us the look, color, and coating class you need and we will confirm the alloy, temper, and process to hit it.

How well aluminum anodizes, polishes, or takes paint depends on the alloy and temper. These are the alloys most manufacturers reach for when finish matters, all of which we manufacture, and we will help you confirm the right choice for your part.
6063
The anodizing and architectural favorite. Its smooth extrusion surface takes a bright, uniform clear or colored anodize, the default for trim, framing, and decorative profiles.
6463
The bright-dip specialist. A decorative variant of 6063 developed for bright, mirror-like trim, the alloy to reach for when you want a bright-dip anodized finish.
6061
The structural all-rounder. Anodizes and paints cleanly while carrying load, so parts can be finished well without giving up strength.
1100
The clear-anodize choice. Commercially pure aluminum that anodizes to a clear, bright finish with excellent corrosion resistance when appearance is the priority.

Can Alfiniti finish the same aluminum it manufactures?
Yes. Alfiniti is an aluminum manufacturer first, so the same partner that supplies your tube and extrusions also anodizes, coats, paints, and finishes them. You get material and finishing on one order, with one team accountable from raw stock to finished part.
What anodizing finishes and specs do you offer?
Standard etch (201R1), bright dip (205R5), two-step black, hard coat, and Frostkote acid etch, in clear or color, to MIL-A-8625 Type I, II, and III, Class 1 or 2, on parts up to 27 feet long. We also run a special bendable anodized process for parts formed after finishing.
What is bright dip, and why does it matter?
Bright dip is a chemical brightening step before anodizing that gives aluminum a bright, mirror-like surface, then locks it in under the anodic layer. Few US shops offer it, especially at length, and Alfiniti runs it in-house on parts up to 27 feet.
Can you match a specific color?
Yes. We color-match to a standard, sample, or paint code using wet paint or powder coating in a wide range of colors, plus dyed anodizing and CARC coatings for defense work. Send your color requirement and we will match it.
What do you need to quote a finish?
The part or a drawing, the alloy and temper if known, the finish and any coating spec (for example MIL-A-8625 Type II Class 2), color or gloss requirements, and estimated volumes. If you are not sure which finish fits, we will help you choose.
